Hello! I’m Justin, a headshot photographer based in Burlington, NC. My goal is to help professionals, entrepreneurs, and individuals present their best selves through high-quality, impactful headshots.
A personal experience early in my life profoundly shaped my understanding of photography’s power. Losing my parents taught me the invaluable role photographs play in preserving memories and connecting us across time. This realization fueled my passion for creating images that are not only visually appealing but also emotionally meaningful.
Headshot photography presents a unique and rewarding challenge. It seems simple on the surface – just a person and a backdrop. But that simplicity is exactly what makes it so demanding. There are no distractions; the focus is entirely on capturing the individual’s genuine confidence and approachability. It’s about connecting with the person in front of my lens, creating a comfortable atmosphere, and drawing out their best expression.
I’m also deeply interested in the technical aspects of photography. I love being able to control every aspect of the lighting to craft a perfect, polished look. And honestly, the best part is seeing someone’s reaction when they see their headshot during the session – that moment when they realize, “Wow, I do look good!” I’ve had so many clients tell me it’s the best photo they’ve ever had taken, and that drives me to continually refine my craft.
My approach is centered on collaboration and putting you at ease. I understand that being photographed can be intimidating, so I strive to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience. I’m known for my calm demeanor and meticulous attention to detail. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, enjoying our pets, and planning our next travel adventure. Those everyday moments with the people I love are what inspire me to help others capture their own important connections.
